Manipulation or "adjustments" is what chiropractic is known for. At Ahnen Chiropractic, we realize
that each patient is unique and requires a unique perspective when it comes to manipulation. Each manipulation is performed
gently and with your safety in mind. To give you the best possible manipulation, a variety of techniques are used for your
convenience. Here is a brief list of some of the techniques used at our office:
Diversified – this technique basically incorporates the best of other techniques to fit each patient's
needs.
S.O.T. - a gentle technique that uses blocks.
Gonstead - this technique uses boney processes as a lever to adjust.
Drop Table - this technique uses a special table that gently drops away.
Cox – Flexion/distraction technique - this technique uses a special table to traction the
low back gently. It's great for treating herniated discs and for complicated low back problems like facet syndrome.
Activator - a gentle hand held tool that assists in manipulation.
Low force - manipulation that doesn't use "thrusting".
Scoliosis adjustment - manipulation that is designed to reduce the curves in scoliosis.
As you can see, a variety of techniques can be used to deliver a manipulative technique that is right for you. The care
at Ahnen Chiropractic is designed to fit your specific and unique needs.
